The AMX 50 as originally planned... The AMX 50 was suddenly made redundant as a medium tank... it was decided to let the AMX 50 evolve into a comparable type... the AMX 50 could in principle easily be adapted to carry the desired 120 mm gun... In 1955 the AMX 50 was nevertheless very close to being ordered by the French government... the AMX 50 project was terminated...
